Any birds on a seed diet should be given a good vitamin supplement on a daily basis.

Most seeds do not have Vitamin A which is crucial for your birds health. A deficiency in Vitamin A causes major skin, respiratory and digestive tract problems which, especially as your bird becomes older, can compromise them in fighting any bacterial or viral infections and leaves them prone to infection. It is also a huge factor in parrots who pluck their feathers as their skin becomes itchy and they pick and pick until they start pulling out feathers.

Vitamins A, D3, E, K, B12, C. Niacin, Pantothenic acid, Riboflavin, Thiamine, Pyridoxine, Folic acid, Choline Bitatrate and Biotin. Minerals include magnesium, Zinc, sulphur, iron, cobalt, copper, manganese, selenium and iodine are all required

Vitamins can be water soluble or a powder added to soft food or fruit/veg.
